Neemrana Hotels is widely popular for providing a non-hotel hotel experience combining the off-beat heritage with culture and laid back yet warm hospitality. The Neemrana Fort Palace in Neemrana, Alwar, Rajasthan has become an iconic property internationally for travellers visiting India, particularly Rajasthan. I have had the pleasure of spending time at all 3 of the Neemrana hotels properties in Alwar, Rajasthan :- (1) Neemrana Fort Palace (2) Kesroli Hill Fort (3) Tijara Fort Palace, and I would have to say that though, overall, all of these properties offer the ‘Neemrana’ experience, each one also has its distinctive charm. A lot of my friends and readers have asked me individually about which property to choose while planning a getaway from Delhi. I thought it best to share the various queries as well as points in a Q&A form.

Neemrana Fort Palace pool view on a dreamy rainy day ❤️ . . Alwar district in Rajasthan is so close to Delhi/NCR and yet a whole different world away. The rugged ancient mountain range Aravallis cover significant parts of the district and there are a smattering of forts, palaces, temples and farmlands. The monsoons transforms Alwar into a charming magical place and we have shared our monsoon travel guide to Alwar on the blog (link in profile) —————————————————- #alwar #monsoontravel #Monsoongetaway #neemranafortpalace #neemranahotels #longweekendgetaways #traveldiaries #travelmemories #quickgetaway #travelersnotebook #journey #incredibleindia #walkingshoes #wanderlust #seetheworld #alwar #rajasthandiaries #rajasthan #indiagram #rajasthantourism #igersrajasthan #travelguide #like4like #travelstories #travelphotography #luxurytravel

Tijara Fort Palce in Tijara, Alwar Rajasthan

Question: What is the distance of Neemrana Hotels properties from Delhi/NCR and which property is the closest to reach?

Answer : First of all, the district of Alwar in Rajasthan is quite nearby to Delhi and adjoining Haryana (Gurgaon-Manesar). It is also one of the districts which is part of NCR so you can very well make out that Alwar in itself is not far by from Delhi. The Neemrana Fort Palace is located in Neemrana village on the Delhi-Jaipur highway (NH 8) around 120 kms from Delhi and takes around 3- 3.5 hours depending on traffic. The Kesroli Hill Fort is located in Kesroli village in Alwar, around 160 kms from Delhi and is via NH8 – SH 13 route; one has to take a detour from the state highway also to go into the kesroli village and therefore it terms of driving time, reaching this property takes the longest time (around 3.5-4 hours). The Tijara Fort Palace is located in Tijara, Alwar and is around 107 Kms from Delhi via NH 8- SH 25 route and takes around 2 -2.5 hours depending on traffic; its actually the closest property to reach from Delhi. Therefore, if you are looking in terms of distance and driving time only, then Tijara Fort Palace or Neemrana are your best choices (personally I would go for Tijara Fort Palace).

Question : What is the pricing range of Neemrana properties , especially of these three properties ?

Answer : The Neemrana properties’ prices start from INR 4000  – 4500 /- (plus taxes), no matter which property one chooses in any of their 25 properties all over India. Among the three properties in Alwar, the most economical price range will be at the Kesroli Hill Fort, whereas Tijara Fort Palace has the most expensive rooms (I had booked last month at Tijara Fort Palace’s second most economical room at INR 7500/- per night). The Neemrana Fort Palace has the most wide ranging pricing in terms of rooms, starting from INR 4500/- and going upto INR 15000/- & above per night suites.

Question : Which Neemrana property has the most economical room rates out of the three properties in Alwar ?

Answer : Undoubtedly, it’s the Kesroli Hill Fort property in village Kesroli, Alwar

Question : Are the properties kid friendly ?

Answer : Well, the focus of Neemrana properties is a relaxed getaway with a heritage luxurious experience. There is not much activities especially designed for kids, however, in recent years, they have added a small kids’ play area in Tijara Fort Palace and Neemrana Fort Palace. On our recent visit to Tijara Fort Palace, our kid had a nice time in the play area. All three properties also have a swimming pool which kids can play with supervision.

What beats a quiet corner to relax ? That would a tastefully decorated quiet corridor with easy chairs to relax, read or just take a siesta! | I was quite impressed by the corridors in Tijara Fort Palace, Alwar, Rajasthan and spent many hours on my own here while my family made themselves busy all over the vast property. . . Question : Do these 3 properties have a swimming pool ? And which one of them scores the best/top most ?

Answer : All the 3 properties have swimming pool. In fact, the Neemrana Fort Palace has 2 pools for its guests. At the time I visited Kesroli Hill Fort, there was no pool at the property but now they have added a pool which has a fabulous view of the landscape (as per the images I have seen and as per my previous visit have an idea where it is located). I cannot say which scores the best but in my opinion, I found the location of the swimming pool in Tijara Fort Palace to be most disappointing.

Question : How much space these properties are spread over ?

Answer : The neemrana hotels’ website can give you exact area in terms of space. I can only share the feel in terms of staying experience. The Kesroli Hill Fort is the smallest property and its perfect for a cosy stay for couples (and I found it to be perfect choice for my first valentine’s getaway with the husband); though the property is small, it looks out into fabulous views of farmlands & Aravalli hills. The Tijara property is the most spacious, while Neemrana property is spread over multiple levels so it’s a lot of walking up and down rather than walking around.

Question : What are the various extra-curricular activities offered in these properties ?

Answer : The Neemrana Fort Palace offers zip lining (or fox fly) as well as camel rides in the nearby villages. There is not much activities offered at the other properties ( or weren’t offered till the time of my writing this article).

Question : Is wifi available at the properties ?

Answer : The Tijara property has wifi in its common area. At the time of my visit to the Neemrana Fort Palace & Kesroli Hill Fort palace, there were no wifi or even televisions in the rooms. Please note, television is only available in the common area in all the Neemrana properties.

Summary : The Neemrana properties’ ethos is unique heritage luxury experience for a relaxed getaway from urban life. I would say that it delivers almost to its ethos and over the years, it has improved upon its quality of service and also pricing has become more competitive. With regards to the 3 properties in Alwar, I would say that if I had to go for a cosy getaway with just my partner or a relatively economical getway from Delhi with the family, I would choose Kesroli Hill Fort. For a big family getaway, I would choose Tijara or Neemrana Fort Palace.  However, if distance is the criteria for choosing between Tijara Fort Palace or Neemrana, then definitely Tijara Fort
Palace scores much above.

I hope this review is helpful to you for choosing your perfect getaway to Neemrana properties in Alwar, Rajasthan. Kindly note, this is not a paid review and my experiences & suggestions are based on my stay in all these properties (for which I self -paid). you can read my details experiences of these properties individually here :-
