Clothes aren’t going to change the world. The women who wear them will. ~ Anne Klein

As a woman and human being, I have come to realise that whatever we do in our everyday life, is both deeply influential & expressive of our mental and emotional state of being. It can be the food we eat, the way we dress or the lifestyle we tend to follow daily. I have seen my own dressing style change over the years so drastically and pondering over it, I realized that it has a deep connection to my thought process. I have not only moved from fashion to style, but my choice of colors, garments and wear has transformed a great deal.  A lot of it has to do with confidence, coming into my own and also expressing it in the form of my personal style. After all, style (or fashion) is a form of self expression. The biggest impact of my evolving personal style has been wearing sarees frequently; now its not that I suddenly or in recent years started buying sarees. In fact, I started buying sarees from the time I started earning, which was from my Master’s degree (as I used to get a handsome scholarship during my Masters). I used to buy sarees for my mom & myself on every field visit to any state of India, specifically buying the handlooms or specialty sarees of that region. I even got my batch mate from Bangladesh to get me dhakai jamdani sarees from her country. However, I never had the confidence to wear the sarees and always found excuses (e.g. Can’t drape it myself as it would look sloppy – which was partly true, not enough time to drape saree in morning for office, etc.). However, with time and inspirations, today I have overcome all those excuses and  wear saree like a pro! And what has been my learning through this – Saree looks great one me and its super comfortable!

Today is Saraswati Pujo, also known as Basant Panchami and it is an auspicious occasion in Bengali Hindu faith, as we offer our prayers to goddess of learning & knowledge – Maa Saraswati. This year the occasion is extra special for me & family as we do the 'hathe kori' for our toddler, a ceremony to mark the beginning of her formal education with the blessings of goddess Saraswati 🙏 . . . I'm wearing a fabulous Tussar Saree by @wesmalltown which has the beautiful colors of spring 'Basant' ———————————– #Saree #sareeswag #sareediaries #sarinotsorry #stylediaries #tussarsaree #indiantextiles #iwearhandloom #handloom #ootd #100sareepact #winterstyle #styleblogger #streetstyledelhi #fashionblogger #yellow #stylista #faith #sareenotsorry #instastyle #textilesofindia #indianwear #personalstyle #whatiwore #basantpanchami #colorsofspring #ootdindia #idresslikeme #sareestories
