i am fortunate to see sunrise & sunsets on most days nowadays….but for the first time in my life..i got up & waited for the sun to rise…the experience is one of my most beautiful & cherished moments…

the images are of sunrise at tiger hill in darjeeling….i got up at 3 in the morning, drove for 1 & half hour and walked up for another 15 minutes to get a good vantage point to view the sunrise…coz there were atleast 100 odd people before me there…..and around 200 odd people were coming to see the sunrise……
as i stood and watched the sky turn from blue to orange to molten lava, the wind blew hard and my fingers were ice cold…i coudnt even keep my fingers still to click the camera…and just when i thought that the sun is playing tricks and would not rise…..behold…an orange speck appeared and within half a minute…the sun rose from behind the hills….that half minute was mesmerising!!!….there was a collective gasp as the sun rose….everybody of the 300 odd people present was captivated!!
i dint know whether to just gaze or click pics…..well..in the end….i did both…..and it was just lovely experience!!

  1. Hi Shooting Star, here I am after another absence, much longer than I wished ๐Ÿ™
Wonderful post! I'm so happy to see that there are people who wakes up early… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Blogtrotter is still travelling in Turkey. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

  2. Gorgeous pics, I love Darjeeling. My family took a vacation there once a year for many, many years. Its been a while since I've been there, but I have never seen the sunrise, I am too much of a lazy bum for early mornings. But these pics make up for all the times I bailed on sunrise watch.

  3. I loved your sunrise series. Thanks for posting it. And thanks for the comment on the couple married 67 years.

in our marriage ceremonies we talk about two becoming one flesh. I think given enough time with and attention to each other, in some ways that happens. I don't think George can imagine live without Grace. One thing I didn't mention in the cutline (because it's their business) is Grace has dementia. George is struggling with that as the disease takes a little more of Grace away from him each day.
