Sometimes at the end of a hard day at work, i just feel like having some fresh air, nice scenery, sitting quietly in a corner and having a cup of coffee or just gazing at some great art….all without having to go to great distances..and the place which instantly gives me all these at one go is one and only India Habitat Centre(IHC in short).
So, it’s my favourite place in delhi #2 ….

The website of IHC says that”The INDIA HABITAT CENTRE was conceived to provide a physical environment which would serve as a catalyst for a synergetic relationship between individuals and institutions working in diverse habitat related areas and therefore, maximise their total effectiveness.
And it really serves the purpose wholly and much more.
For me if there’s one quality hangout place in the whole city that i have to go…this is the one!!
IHC is designed by renowned Architect Joseph Allen Stein and is one of his most popular creations. The place comprises of a number of visual art galleries, restaurants, auditoriums, theaters and office spaces. Therefore, it offers an interesting mix of activities for people of all age groups and social interests. Its a stone throw away from my house(rather my parents’ place), so anytime i feel like having a me alone time or cozy time with friends i just walk down here…

I like to hang out in the wide open landscaped pathways of the palce for the most part and check out its two art galleries. There’s some interesting art show going on at any give point of time and its always a pleasure to walk around the art galleries and see some amazing art work. It’s got four restaurants, out of which only two are for general public and the rest two are for members only…On most days, i hang out at eatopia which is a foodcourt, coz its such a lively place with families, couples and kids ..and i can spend hours observing others…
however, when i want to have a cozy time with friends, i go to American Diner, which a small cover restaurant serving american style food.

In addition, there are a number of music & dance performances, movie screenings and other cultural events going on at any point of of time, so any time im there im assured i will be entertained!!!

So, anyone interested in hanging out with me at IHC?????!!!!!!!!!!! I promise you its gonna be fun!!!
