forts and palaces hold a certain kind of charm…..of an royal era when everything was grand….!!
the drive was smooth for most part, though the road got bad for certain stretches..and at the end of the drive, we were a bit tired….however, driving up the hill fort, we were beginning to feel the royal charm!!
the hill fort was renovated in a manner that it had both a rustic and royal feel!!!

in the evening, we were served tea in the common terrace and it was calming & relaxing moments for us both to spend some time in the fresh air surrounded by fields below and watching the sunset
this year valentine’s day fell on a weekend so hubby thought we could go out somewhere…and what better place than a royal fort for a romantic getaway…
so we headed for kesroli hill fort, located in alwar district of rajasthan…around 4 hours drive from delhi…..

the hill fort was renovated in a manner that it had both a rustic and royal feel!!!
while my hubby dozed off in hotel room, i took my camera and wandered on the premises capturing some nice moments and things…of which shots of a rather bold squirrel staring back at me are my favourites…

in the evening, we were served tea in the common terrace and it was calming & relaxing moments for us both to spend some time in the fresh air surrounded by fields below and watching the sunset
in late evening, we got to see rajasthani folk songs & dance..accompanied by drinks, which every guest enjoyed i think!!!…atleast i enjoyed the drinks, so did hubby!!

after having drinks & dinner, we spend some quiet time looking at the stars and enjoyed the peace of the night….before retiring for the night

we had a sumptous breakfast and then spent time on the highest point of the fort sitting and spending time..and it was sucha lovely time for both of us, doing nothing, talking nonsense and clicking pics…..

i got up early morning…i dunno wat made me wake up…but when i went to the window and looked out, the view was amazing….!!
the air was fresh and crisp ….and i felt like dancing..crazy but true!!!

some parrots gave us wonderful company too!!….they perched near us for considerable time and made an awful lot of sounds!!!!….which we both enjoyed..

soon, it was noon and time for us to leave…..this time we enjoyed our drive much more..with some interesting interludes in between…..the best of which was when we had to stop for camels to take a left turn!!!
so i would recommend kesroli to all people in delhi looking for a weekend getaway….its royal, its rustic, its a hill and its a fort!!!!!!

@austere..well.the people who run the pataudi property are in chage here too…so i guess there's a bit of familiarity in the furniture …but pataudi s true blue royal whereas kesroli is rustic royal..more to the earth!!
