Tamra – The All Day Dining Restaurant at Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel New Delhi, is the newest F&B offering from the hotel. It’s only about a month & half old and I had to take up the review offer, as I am always excited by the hotel’s ventures as it never disappoints me (and also because they have an amazing PR team who are warm & friendly).
The décor in Tamra is its USP, with contemporary furniture, lots of natural lighting and elegant yet rustic décor elements. In fact, I just couldn’t stop taking pics and posting on Instagram of the various design elements I encountered (the lovely copper vessels installation takes the cake!!). My colleague (who was my review companion for the day) also fell in love with the seating & natural light effects which gave a happy sunshine feel to the restaurant.
The restaurant had a unique five kitchen concept, mainly serving Asian, Indian and Regional, Japanese (and Teppanyaki), homemade gelatos, Dessert Bar, Cold cuts and a Salad Bar. I felt it was quite an extensive menu that these various kitchens were serving up and a really wide choice of dishes to choose from.
The welcome drink was quite interesting, mostly for the quirky glasses it was served in (quite an eye catcher!!). We first tried out the salad bar and I really loved the small portioned out salads in shot glasses. The ingredients in all the salads were fresh and on the whole, I liked what all I had piled up on my plate. My colleague tried a couple of non-vegetarian dishes and she highly recommends the stir fry noodles.
On the vegetarian front, I loved the Hommes Au Gratin, which was a comforting & homely version of potato gratin. The homemade gelatos were the best part of our meal and our thumbs up goes to the mango gelato. It was so flavorful, fresh and felt like a real mango on the palate.
I would give a thumbs to Tamra and hope they keep the quality consistent. I would definitely go back here for more.
