I spent one day in Baddi in Himachal Pradesh (India) on a work trip recently and came away quite surprised. Most travelers asociate this beautiful himalayan state with mountains, glaciers and natural beauty. However, it was a big ‘industrial’ and ‘development’ side to it too.
Baddi is one of the key ‘Industrial’ belts of the state and lot of medium and small scale industries are located here. It is famously known as ‘Tractor town’ of India.
Sharing with you some of my images from the Baddi trip
There are lot of industrial complexes in Baddi, but due to the rolling terrain (being at the foothills of the himlayas), they are spaced out. So generally, the town looks quite scenic.
This was the view from where we had a working lunch…nice no!!
The drive to Baddi (from Chandigarh was also very pleasant, with well constructed roads and greenery).
And the best part of the trip was that I got to bring fresh apples (all of 10 kgs) from the state 🙂

Nice pictures!! …. I did not know it is a industrial Belt..hope they are for sustainable development(: … don't pollute ad distroy nature and all(:…great apples too.
Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Looking at all the greenery, it does not look like having industrial complexes there.
